Why have a newborn session ?

Because, mama, those tiny toes, tiny fingers and little hands won’t stay for long.

That tiny bundle of love will soon change before you realise it. It’s actually a matter of days! every single day he/she will grow up and won’t look the same.

You might not notice it because you are cuddling your baby so close all the time, but it’s happening ! And when you realise that you have forgotten to take this photo for the album or this special moment was cute and important to remember, then it’s gone !

There will be sooo many moments you will forget to, because of sleep deprivation.

My Lily was born during lockdown, so unfortunately we had to cancel our newborn shoot, which was heartbreaking. So I just have photos on my iphone which are not that great, and most of the photos are Lily with Dad or Lily on her own, but barely any with me. That sucks, trust me. But I am glad we have photos of all those moments from Day 1 (and even when I was pregnant actually !). I am super happy I took the time to capture memories of her and put it all into a photo album. Now when I look back at it, I have forgotten most of those memories, so I am glad they are in the album. When I will be a grand-ma, I will be super emotional looking back at it !

So find your photographer and BOOK your newborn shoot mama! Sooner than later. Ideally after your 20 weeks scan, contact your photographer and book a date.

Think you are going to be awkward in front of the camera ?

It’s okay if you are not comfortable in front of the camera, or think it will be awkward because you have never done it before and not sure what to do. I will make you feel comfortable, put you at ease. From the moment you enquire, you will be guided all the way. You will receive your Welcome Guide & Styling Guide. I will ask you to complete a questionnaire to get to know you better and we will arrange a 15min call to talk about any questions you would have. I also have a small client wardrobe, mainly for mums and babies (nothing for Dads sorry), which you are welcome to try on the day.

On the day

I will give you some basic prompts, I will fix your hair if needed, I will put a pin in the back of your dress if it needs in order to look perfect, don’t worry I ‘ve got you mama ! Have a seat on my sofa and let me capture gorgeous photos of your fresh baby, you won’t regret it :)

The room will be warm for baby, I will make you a coffee or a tea , so just relax and enjoy !
