Simple and timeless newborn photography inspirations in London

Hello Mama! Congratulations on your little one if you are reading this.

Your little one might not be here yet and maybe you are thinking about having a newborn photoshoot. Wondering what type of poses I do ? Do you like simple and natural photos ? I’ve got you Mama and here is an overview of the main poses I like to do of baby and parents.

You can also have a look at my portfolio page to see a bit more !

If baby is awake when we strat the session, that’s perfectly fine. I like to swaddle them so they will gently fall asleep. When they are awake, it’s a good opportunity to take some beautiful shots of their wiggly body and also their beautiful blue eyes.

If baby is deeply asleep, we can put them on the tummy and take lot of different angles photos. We can also remove their little outfit and either put a fluffy gorgeous blanket either get them naked. Using a little pillow to elevate their head and making it look even more natural is beautiful too.

The easiest position : sleeping on their back once they are swaddled, warm and cosy. Usually they are deep asleep and we can move them as we need on the bean bag.

It is also when I like to take macro shots, which means very close-up photos of the little details like their lashes, lips, arms rolls, little toes. How cute right ? It’s not always the photos picked by my clients but they love to see those details shots!

I will then do photos with Daddy alone, adding Mummy on some of them (and siblings ). Then we will do the same with Mummy and baby alone, adding Dad when we need.

We will finish with some of my classic poses with all of you on the photos, using either my bean bag or standing up in front of the window.

Here you go, that’s a good summary of the different poses we do during a 2 hours newborn session in London.

If it resonates with you Mama and you are all emotional already, this is your sign to book a session with me !!

Love, Claire Xx
