5 things to have in your hospital bag

I know there are a lot of lists already on the internet or with your NCT group. But I found those 5 things to be super important and not necessarily mentioned to first time mums.
So here is my list!🤍

5 things you should have in your hospital bag , charging cable is number 1

Your phone charger

with a VERY long cable! Mine is 3m long I think, from amazon. I had a C-section so I couldn’t move at all the first day, so let me tell you I was very glad I could charge my phone anytime without calling a nurse because the plug was so far away.

5 things you should have in your hospital bag, baby milk is number 2

Baby liquid milk

Aptamil and SMA are the 2 biggest brands. The hospital will probably give you the first bottle when you have to feed your newborn ( and you are not able to breastfeed yet , if you want to breastfeed). They asked us to buy the other bottles and we were not prepared!! I remembered texting Richard my partner, to make sure he would get the correct one on shelf! Don’t send a new dad alone in the baby aisle!🫠

5 things you should have in your hospital bag, your headphone is number 3

Your headphones

especially if you share a room! I was sharing with someone else most of the time I was at hospital. The first other mum had decided to watch a full season of How to get away with murder, without her headphones… 🤬😤pretty selfish & rude to say the least.

5 things you should have in your hospital bag, your hypnobirthing book is number 4

Your hypnobirthing book or soundtrack

to help relax during and after the birth ☺️. I find the visualisation technic very powerful. If you are new to hypnobirthing or not sure what it is really, I encourage you to read this book or do some research online. It has nothing to do with being hypnotised ! It is actually some breathing technics and visualisation aid, to help you relax and almost come into a state of meditation. When I was pregnant, I also did a class of hypnobirthing-yoga which was fabulous to be honest, I would recommend.

5 things you should have in your hospital bag, your own pillow is number 5

Your own pillow!

I was sooo glad I took mine. When you are stuck in hospital for at least 3 days, sharing your room with other people, with a crying newborn and trying to recover from the birth, well it’s great to have some comfort and something from your home that helps you sleep✨☺️

If you are still reading, thank you! Did you have any other great tip for first time mums? Please share in the comments ☺️❤️

I hope you found those tips useful and are ready for the arrival of your little one. It can be a scary moment but you got this mama! Women are so strong, we are super heroes :)
